Microsoft Accessibility Help Topics

CHALLENGE

A major team at Microsoft wanted to make it easier for more people to fully use its products. Specifically, they wanted to publish a large number of Help topics for customers with low or no vision. These customers use screen readers to get help completing tasks with Microsoft products.

Solution

Resources Online provided a team of writers, testers, editors, and producers trained to use the accessibility tools and settings available in several Microsoft products on the Windows, Macintosh, Android, and iOS platforms, along with the third-party screen readers used on these platforms. Our project managers and content strategists worked closely with the Microsoft team to develop writing guidelines and templates for each type of topic, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all tasks for limited-vision users. The Resources Online team documented both in-market products and products still under development.
